F*ck You Rock | Flutterby Designs

Hi everyone!
Just popping in today to sharing my latest project for Flutterby Designs. The layout I have to share with you today features a photo of my sister and I that was taken during 80's theme night at the Scrap & Chat retreat we attended earlier in the year. SO. MUCH. FUN. (With thanks to our talented photographer my darling friend Ant for this shot!)

And, as you may have guessed from my post title, this one features my favourite "sentence enhancer", so if you aren't a fan of a little sweariness, then I suggest you look away now! ;)

"F*ck You Rock"

As you can see, I went the mixed media route on this one. To create my background I started by adding blue mist to my cardstock using a waterbrush; then I stamped with some of my fave stamps from Viva Las VegaStamps; and then added some gold mist splatters. On top of all that, I drizzled some white Flutter Colour paint to add extra texture and some doodled stars using the star mini stencil.

Next, I added an Everyday Etc card where I wanted my photo to go (the one I used was from the Super Cool set); on top of that I added some frayed gauze before adding my photo, which I mounted up using some cardboard.

I used a combination of two wood veneer pieces to form my title, along with one of the white tiny sticky quotes. I also used a page tab tucked in behind my photo.

Alongside my photo I added a flair button (from set #389), which I nested on some messy black thread. I also added the you + me die cut from the Mad About You die cut bits and bobs set and a few more tiny sticky quotes.

To finish off my page, I added some of the Confetti Circles wood veneers scattered around my page and my handwritten journaling.

Thanks for stopping by today. If you aren't already a member of the Flutterby Inspiration HQ group on Facebook, (or you are and just haven't shared anything), what are you waiting for? Come on down!
Til next time, happy scrapping! X

Chill Out | Cocoa Vanilla Studio

Hi everyone!
Just popping in today to share another Endless Summer layout with you all. I am so in love with this collection with its soft tones, pretty patterns and super cute embellishments.
I decided to use this photo I took recently of my miss during an afternoon at the beach. (Being the little nerd she is, she had decided to sit herself in a tree and write rather than run around madly with her brothers.)

"Chill Out"

With her perched in a tree, I really couldn't go past the gorgeous woodgrain print side of the Sweet Treats paper for my background. I then used pieces of the Blue Skies and Sunbleached and papers to form a layered mat for my photo.

In my first embellishment cluster I used a combination of die cut ephemera pieces, a flair button, a small woodie, small wood veneer arrow and one of the beautiful blooms. I also popped in some messy cotton thread for some subtle texture. You can also see above a small wood veneer heart which I anchored to the main part of th layout with some hand stitching.

I also added a paper doily to my paper layers under my photo to soften all the straight lines, and a few hand stitched crosses for a little extra visual interest.

Beside and below my photo, I added more layered embellishments. To tie in with the previous cluster I repeated the used of ephemera, blooms, wood veneer, woodies and thread. I also used the chill out piece which was from the cut apart This & That paper as my title.

The Endless Summer collection is now available from select retailers (you can check the stockists page to find your nearest one), or alternatively, it is also available direct from the Cocoa Vanilla store.
Thanks for stopping by today so I could share this with you.
Until next time, happy scrapping! X

Cute | D-lish Scraps November Cyber Crop

Hi everyone!
Just popping in to share a layout I completed for the D-lish Scraps November Cyber Crop that is currently underway over in the D-lish Scraps Facebook group The Scrap Suite. Since stepping down from the D-lish Scraps design team at the end of September, I haven't really dug into my D-lish stash much so I thought it was high time I did!
I decided to tackle Sarah's sketch challenge first and of course, me being me, I couldn't stick to using the sketch as it was and decided to rotate it instead.

Here's what I came up with...

I used lots of D-lish goodies on this layout - wood veneer pieces; flair button; washi tape; various Journal It's; D-lish Dots and enamel shapes; bitty bag; tissue paper; twine; dip dye tag; and a wooden peg.

Here are some close-ups...

That's all from me today. I will back again soon with another project to share.
Til then, happy scrapping! X

You're My Person | Flutterby Designs

Hi everyone!
I am here today to share my latest layout with you using the brand new 'Mad About You' collection from Flutterby Designs. First of all, I have to start by saying I freakin' LOVE this new range. It's bright, colourful, funny, quirky...there is just so much to love! Not to mention the fact that there are also some brand new Flutterby products in this range - Die Cut Bits & Bobs and some new format Sticky Quotes which feature some larger shapes, images and words. There is also a new themed Wood Veneer pack.

Here is the layout I created using the collection...

"You're My Person"

To create this layout, I first started by tearing up some old book paper and colouring it using some mists and a waterbrush. Once dry, I adhered it to my cardstock using Mod Podge, and then applied some Colour Blast Colour Paste through my 'I {heart} you' mini stencil in a few random areas. After that, I drizzled aqua Flutter Colour paint over the top and left it all to dry for a while.
The next step was to apply a bit of stamping with my Viva Las VegaStamps and black ink to add some depth, and then I splattered both lime and black mists.

Once my background was done it was time to create the layers for my photo to sit on. I used a variety of the 'Mad About You' Everyday Etc filler cards, along with the 'Mad About You' frame (#47), and one of the coordinating page tabs. My title was fussy cut from one of the 'Mad About You' Everyday Etc cards.

I then used some of the pieces from the Die Cut Bits & Bobs pack and the coordinating Sticky Quotes sheet to add some extra interest around the page. The flair button is from the 'Mad About You' (Set #2), which I nested on some black thread and added a couple of bold enamel dots nearby.

To finish my page I added a couple of the small hearts wood veneers (which I coloured black) and some white Tiny Sticky Quotes.

I love how this page came together! And did I mention I love layers? (I think that doodled circle & spot background stamp from VLVS is my very favourite - I just can't seem to stop using it!)

Thanks for stopping by today so I could share this with you. If you haven't already checked out the new 'Mad About You' collection in the Flutterby Designs store (or the other new range 'Dec Documented 2016'), then scoot over HERE and take a look!

The Good Life | Cocoa Vanilla Studio

Hi everyone!
Just popping in today to share my first layout using the brand new (and oh-so-pretty) Endless Summer collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio! As summer is fast approaching here in Australia, this collection will be perfect for scrapping all those summer holiday photos with it's soft, gorgeous colors and cute retro feel.

I decided to start with a photo I snapped of my family earlier in the year enjoying hot chips after a day spent on the beach. It's always the perfect end to the day for us.

"The Good Life"

I used the beautiful 'Sunbleached' ombre paper as my background, which I first added a little mixed media to. I used one of my Faber-Castell gelatos applied with a waterbrush to add some subtle colour in the area where I was going to place my photo. I also used some of my Viva Las VegaStamps to add some extra depth to my background, and then splattered some mist around.

I then created a layered mat for my photo using pieces of the reverse sides of the 'This & That' and 'Sunbleached' papers; a paper doily and some gauze for extra texture.

I then used pieces from the die cut ephemera pack; accessory stickers; and one of the coordinating flair buttons to create small layered clusters to embellish my layout. (Isn't that flamingo the cutest?)

I also fussy cut a few flowers from the gorgeous 'Aloha Sunshine' paper to use around my page.

Here's a closer look at all those lovely layers....

Thanks for stopping by today so I could share this with you. The Endless Summer collection started shipping to retailers a few days ago, so should be hitting the shelves of your favourite store SOON! (If your favourite store doesn't have it, make sure you ask them to get it in!) ;)

retrEAT | Show Us Your Stuff November Challenge!

Hi everyone!
Back again with another design team layout to share with you, this time for Show Us Your Stuff. This month's challenge at SUYS is "No People!" That's right, the challenge to is to create something that doesn't feature people. And as always, a handmade embellishment also has to be included.

Here is the layout I created, featuring some photos of the fabulous food from the Scrap & Chat retreat I attended back in July. (I am so looking forward to attending this retreat again next year and partly because I know the food will be amazing! hehe)

"retrEAT"

I dug into my stash and used up some older My Minds Eye papers for this layout - yay for stash busting! I also added some mixed media to my background, using stamps from Viva Las VegaStamps and some mists.

I used a mix of Thickers from my stash for my title (sadly, I don't use my Thickers stash nearly enough these days!) and highlighted my title with a handmade chevron from Charms Creations.

I used a ticket and some wood veneer pieces from Cocoa Vanilla Studio to help embellish my layout.

My journaling was a bit "tongue in cheek" to suit the queen stamp from Viva Las VegaStamps that I had used.

Thanks for popping in today so I could share this. And now it's YOUR turn! You have until the end of the month to upload your take on this challenge over on the Show Us Your Stuff blog to be in the running to win.
Happy scrapping! X

Howzat! | Scrap the Boys November Challege

Hi everyone! Here I am with my first design team share for the month of November, and I am kicking off with Scrap the Boys. This month at STB the challenge is SPORTS, so I decided to scrap this gorgeous photo of Hunter with his new cricket bat on Christmas Day. It was the item that was top of his wish list, so to say he was happy was an understatement!

"Howzat!"

I used a bit of a mash-up of materials for this layout. The background papers are both from the Cocoa Vanilla Studio 'Totally Rad' collection. I added some mixed media using a Dylusions ink spray (applied using a waterbrush) and some stamping using some of my stamps from Viva Las VegaStamps. I also added some small snippets of torn washi tape and some splatters of mist.

The alpha stickers used for my title were also from the Totally Rad collection. (And for all my international friends who may not understand, "howzat" is short for "how's that?" and is a term often used in Australian cricket when appealing to the umpire for the batsman to be given out.)

For the layers under my photo, I used papers from the Cocoa Vanilla Studio 'Tis the Season' collection (to give it that Christmas touch); as well as a paper doily from my stash. Dotted around my page, I also used a few wood veneer pieces from the Tis the Season collection. (This range is currently available from the Cocoa Vanilla store for a massive 40% off!)

To embellish my layout, I used a variety of die cut ephemera pieces, stickers and acetate stars from the Totally Rad range; as well as one of the Cocoa Vanilla Limited Edition flair buttons.

Thanks for stopping by today so I could share this with you. You have until the end of the month to scrap your take on this "Sports" challenge and upload it to the Scrap the Boys blog to be in with a chance of winning a fabulous prize! We are looking forward to seeing all your fabulous sporty layouts!
