Yes, I HAVE been scrapping!

Yes, I HAVE been scrapping - since my last share I have scrapped 5 layouts, but can only show a couple of them. The first one is for a challenge at Aussie Girls Gone Scrappin'. The challenge has been posted by the lovely Tracy, from my2angels. The criteria for the challenge are to do a brown layout, and include rhinestones, pearls and bows. Here is my layout...

I also completed a layout last night for the Scrap Of Your Life Cyber Crop, which is happening at the moment. There a some great challenges on offer and prizes up for grabs, and best of all entries aren't due until midnight, 3rd February! (HEAPS of time!) The first challenge is to create a summer themed layout, use 3 photos, hand cut pp as embellishment, layering and use ink as part of title. Here is my take on the criteria...

And a close-up of some of my layering (I just LOVE foam mounting tape!)...

I could show you more of what I've been up to, but then I would have to kill you! LOL

Happy Australia Day!

I hope everyone had a great Australia Day yesterday and that you all got you all got out and did something truly Aussie as a salute to our great nation! We had a fairly quiet day at home as it was really hot, although we did spend a good deal of time in the pool and also went for a walk down the beach. In true Aussie fashion though, after having spent too much time in the sun, I was looking a little pink...oops!
Here are are some of my favourite pics from yesterday...

Celebrations CC LO's!

It has been sooooo hot and sticky here over the last week, which is not very good for one's mojo, I can tell you! This week I have been working on the SBT50 Celebrations CC challenges and have managed to complete almost all of them. The first one I have to share is the latest one I completed, for the "Let's Celebrate" challenge. For this one, we had to use a sketch designed by our January Guest DT Member Megan, and also use some of the lyrics from the song 'Celebration'. Here is my layout...

The next layout was for the "It's Your Party" challenge. For this one, members selected pictures that were secretly representative of different criteria. One of the forum members selected mine for me (because I designed the challenge) and I got layering, stamping, use 3 different ribbons and a big title. Here's what I came up with...

The next challenge was the "This Year..." challenge, which was all about scrapping your goals or resolutions. The extra criteria was the title had to contain "2010" and there had to be handwritten journalling. I decided to step outside my comfort zone for this and not only use colours that I wouldn't normally, but also do a photoless layout! Here is the end result...

The last layout I have to share is a DOUBLE layout! (You probably already know I don't like them...LOL) Anyway, besides having to be a double LO, the criteria for the "2009 in Review" challenge was that it had to include at least 4 photos, have a family theme, the title had to contain "2009" and the LO had to have some reference to "in review"...phew! Here is my layout which I centred around how Brielle had changed from baby to toddler...

Another LO Share!

A quick share of a layout I completed for this month's challenge at Out of the Hat. This month the criteria are to use circles somewhere, use striped paper and a one word title. I scrapped a gorgeous picture I took of Brielle on the swing at the local park a few months ago. To reflect the fun of the photo, I chose to use lots of bright colours and the BG "Lime Rickey" pps were perfect! I wanted to keep the LO relatively simple, so just added a Bella journal tag & butterfly, Thickers and a few rhinestones & brads and of course a bit of doodling!
Here is the result...

First Concert!

This morning I took Brielle to the local shopping centre for her first ever "concert", a free show put on for the kids there - "Raggs" (from the TV show of the same name). Unfortunately my darling daughter had to spend most of the show contained in her pram because she just could not understand WHY she couldn't be ON the stage!!! LOL She is such a show-off! Anyway, even in her pram she did all the actions and bopped along to the music. She LOVED it!!!
Shots of the show...

Here's one of the only shots I COULD get of Brielle while she was dancing free...

At the end of the show, I had one VERY happy camper...

CC Example Layout

The fourth challenge has now been posted for the SBT50 January "Celebrations" Cyber Crop and this challenge is mine! The "Stone the Crows" challenge is all about scrapping milestones. The criteria for this challenge is you have to include journalling that explains the milestone you have scrapped, use pp as your background, staples and something sheer or transparent. I used Sassafras Lass pp as my background and printed my journalling on a sheet of transparency. All materials for this layout (excluding alphas and transparency) were from the DT kit I was supplied. The layout is called "Cruisin'" and is about when Brielle first started to walk along holding the furniture - a milestone that is often over-looked.

More LO's to share!

I have had some serious mojo happening lately, so here are a few more layouts I have managed to complete. The first is for Kathie's Monthly Challenge at SBT50. The criteria for this challenge is to use 2 photos, 2 word title, 2 types of alphas and 2 decorative edges. I thought this was the perfect opportunity to go back and scrap some pics of Brielle meeting her Papa and Nani for the first time. I had been hoarding the Prima flower for quite some time and it just went perfectly with the BG 'Sugared' papers.

This next layout was for Vicki's Monthly Challenge at SBT50. The criteria for this challenge is to use newspaper, stitching and strip journalling. I started this layout with no idea of what I was doing and it just flowed onto the page. I am really happy how it turned out, and besides newspaper and machine stitching, I also used denim fabric - 3 items not often used by me!

The next item is not actually a layout, it's a banner. SBT50 are looking for a new "scrapped" banner for the site so I thought I would give it a go. You can check out the banner challenge details HERE.

Lastly, is a layout I completed for this month's challenge at Scrap the Girls. This month the challenge is a sketch, you can check out the sketch and the challenge details HERE. For this layout I used some gorgeous Sassafras and CherryArte papers and a beautiful pic of Brielle and her cousin Madeline.

Sorry for the long post, but like I said, serious mojo happening! LOL There is more, but I can't share yet...

SBT50 CC!

Have you been over and checked out the Scrapbooking Top 50 January Cyber Crop yet??? This month's theme is "Celebrations" and there are already 3 challenges posted, with 3 more to come! Another Challenge Win!

I received some more wonderful news today - I won another challenge! This challenge was a kit challenge hosted by the lovely Kathie @ Scraphappy Kat. We were each provided a kit to do a layout with, the only constraint being that we had to use some of each item in the kit. As soon as I saw the kit contents, it screamed grunge at me, only with my own personal twist...I call it "girly grunge"!

Here is the layout, "Chillin' Out"...

Challenge Layout & Exciting News!

A quick share of this layout I completed the other night for the Black With 2 December challenge. The criteria for this challenge was to use black, blue, crisp white and also snowflakes, lace and glitter. I decided to scrap an old pic of Brielle I had been wanting to do for ages.
Here is my layout...Now for my exciting news for the day...I have just found out that I won the December Scrap the Girls challenge! Woo hoo!

Scrapability LO!

Here is my latest layout for Scrapability Sketches. Unfortunately it's for the December sketch... (better late than never, right?) December was such a busy month for me I didn't get time to complete this until the last couple of days. Anyway, here is my take on Bec's great DOUBLE PAGE sketch (eeek! I am not usually a fan of doubles, but this one was super easy with the sketch). If you pop over to Scrapability now, the new January sketch has also been posted.

PS - You may notice a bit of a crinkle in the cardstock...Brielle decided to "help" me with this layout! (She was very excited when she saw the photos of herself and grabbed it off the desk.)

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! Hope you weren't feeling too sick today when the sun came up! I can't believe it is now 2010...where the last 10 years went, let alone the last year, is beyond me!
Anyway, 1st of the month means the new monthly challenges from the DT are up on SBT50. You can check them all out HERE.
My challenge to everyone this month is as a result of a personal challenge...it's orange! Orange is definitely not my favourite colour and probably my least favourite colour to scrap with. But being a new year, I decided enough was enough and that I needed to meet the challenge head-on. I look forward to seeing what amazing things others can do with orange! (And perhaps it might encourage me to use it more often!) Check out the full details of my challenge.
Here is my example layout:
