Scrapability Feb Sketch!

Just thought I would share the layout that I did for the February sketch over at Scrapability Sketches. Of course I shuffled the sketch around a little to suit myself (don't I always? LOL) and am pretty happy with the result. I don't often do "shaped" LO's, so it was good to get one of my die cuts out of the stash and use it!

I have scrapped another 3 LO's over the last couple of days but unfortunately they are all under wraps for now! :p

Scrap Soup Layout!

Scrapability Sketches currently have a comp running called "Scrap Soup". The way it works is that each day, over the course of 5 days, we are given a new criteria ('ingredient'), and on the 5th day we are also given a twist (the 'stir'). We then blend all of these together and come up with our layout ('soup'). At the end of the week, the 3 layouts with the least amount of votes have a "scrap-off" to see who continues on into the next round. Our first week's recipe was to use 2 photos and distress one of them; the colour green; doodling; stitching; paint and our twist was that we had to use a banner and could not use flowers...phew!
Here's what I came up with...

Out of the Hat Challenge LO!

Here's a layout I completed the other day for Out of the Hat. This month's criteria are four word title, include a butterfly and use buttons & bows (which was mine!) I scrapped this pic of Brielle that I took while we were up in Townsville in December while the kids were having an impromptu "fairy party". Its such a rare moment when she isn't putting on a big cheesy smile for the camera these days, hence the title "Such a Serious Fairy".

Only 8 days left in this short month...hmmm, what to scrap next???

Post Number 100...We Have a Winner!!!

WOO HOO! It's post number 100 for me, and that means I have a winner of my giveaway to announce. Before I do though, I would just like to say a heartfelt thanks to everyone that takes the time to stop by my blog and leaves me encouraging comments on my work. Your comments are really appreciated, as like many of us scrappers, I often doubt in my own ability. So thanks to you all - you really do brighten my world!

OK, enough of the soppy stuff, I enlisted the help of my trusty barrel girl this afternoon... And the winner is...
And now (with a smile) the winner is...

If you still can't read it, it says MARELIZE!!! (They were right about not working with kids! LOL) Congrats Marelize, I will message you to get your postal details so I can send you this...

Thanks for playing along everyone! XXX

Almost the big 1-0-0!!!

I am almost at the big 1-0-0...only one more post to go! Thought I might as well post up another layout share and remind everyone that next post I will be drawing out my RAK, so don't forget to become a follower and leave a comment on that post (find it HERE) if you haven't already!

Anyway, here is another LO I completed for the SBT50 Feb CC. This one was for Vicki's "Love Song" challenge, where we had to use the title or lyrics from a love song, include 'white space' and distressing. I included the title of my favourite love song - 'Throw Your Arms Around Me'. The pic is of me with Brielle when she was 7 weeks old (and still wearing size 00000!)

The next LO I have to share is one that I completed for the What Is Old Is New "Year in Review" challenge. Each monthly LO has to include photo/s, a calendar and journalling. I did my January LO on Australia Day and decided to approach it from a 'non-traditional' colour perspective.
.

The last LO I have to share is for the final SBT50 CC challenge, "Love a Sketch". For this challenge we had to use a sketch designed by fellow DT member Kathie, and also rub-ons and something metal. I am not overly happy with the result of this one, but figured I would post it up here anyway. I knew I wasn't happy about halfway through, but forced myself to go on...I had to in order to move onto something else, as I never start a new LO until I have finished the one before. Anyway, here is the LO that has been the 'roadblock' for the last couple of days...

Next post I will be back with a prize for someone!!!

Cyber Crop Layouts!

All challenges for the SBT50 CC have now been revealed and they are awesome - even if I do say so myself...LOL They have really inspired me to get scrapping this week and I managed to complete most of them already. (There is still another full WEEK until they are actually due though.)

This first layout was for the "Little Things" challenge, which was from our guest DT member, Julie. For this challenge we had to scrap about an everyday 'something' that we love, use NO embellishments (!) and had to ink our edges. Julie wanted to get everyone 'back to basics', and filling their layouts with titles & journalling. I scrapped about my thongs and actually found the criteria quite challenging initially (I started it once then screwed it up and started again...LOL)

The next challenge, "Ten Things" was also set by Julie, and for this one we had to scrap about a loved one, include a '10 things I love about you' list, use white cs as the base, use an altered flower and have something placed randomly on the layout. Here is my take...

I actually scrapped this next layout a little while ago, as it is the example layout for my "Love Hurts" challenge. For this challenge I have asked people to scrap a 'not so happy' moment, use a die cut and include leaves or branches. Here is what I came up with (Brielle having a 'diva' moment...LOL)

I have more to share but will leave until my next post. Almost at the big 100...make sure you get in my RAK draw by checking out the post HERE

Stuff to Share!

OK, time for another share. I have been working on a couple of things over the last few days. The first layout was for Vicki's Monthly Challenge at Scrapbooking Top 50. This month's challenge is to scrap a layout with no title or journalling (!), layering and doodling. Continuing on in my quest to use more of my stash, I used up some old papers, cardstock and rub-ons for this layout. I also used an older photo of Brielle I had been putting off scrapping for ages (I think it was the purple).

The next layout I did was for Scrapability's "Scrap Soup" competition. We had to use a sketch designed by Bek, but other than that had free rein on the criteria. Here's what I came up with..

Lastly, a card I created for Challenge 1 of the SBT50 "Love is all Around" Cyber Crop. The only criteria for this was that we had to make a Valentine's Day card. I made mine from the scraps of a recent layout made from scraps! LOL (Double recycling!) I decided a "grungy" style card was perfect for my DP as we don't really do Valentine's Day and he isn't the mushy type! LOL

If you haven't already done so, be sure to check out my previous post for my RAK! ;-)

Right now, I have NO IDEA, but I promise I will make it worth your while! ;-)

I Love This Pic!

I just had to post this pic up that I took this afternoon, I just LOVE it...so cute!!!

OK, and this one (any opportunity to grab Daddy's sunnies! LOL)...

Another Scrappy Share!

Here is another scrappy share of some of my recent work. The first layout is one that I just completed today for Kathie's Monthly Challenge at SBT50. Kathie's challenge this month is to use an altered photo, distressing and flowers - an interesting combo! In addition to this challenge, SBT50 are also posting weekly "Make Your Mojo Flow" challenges just for inspiration. This week's challenge is to get stuck into our stash of scraps and create a layout from them. I decided to combine the two challenges and am pleased to say that I created this layout ENTIRELY from scraps! (Even the cardstock wasn't a whole piece!) Not only that, but I dug out some old or rarely used items and used them too! I am pretty happy with the result...

I even included a hidden journalling tag on this layout (something else that was different for me). Here is a close-up...

The next layout was one I completed for the Scrap of Your Life Cyber Crop. This one was a sketch challenge and I also used some of my old stash and some scraps...
The last one I have to share is a layout I completed for Amanda's "About Me" challenge at Aussie Girls Gone Scrappin'. I thought the criteria sounded challenging - a pic of me, a movie title as the title, handwritten journalling, bling and a non-scrap item. I dug through my photos and found an old one of Shannon & I from my uni graduation. Here's my take on it...

New Monthly Challenges!

Well it's February now, so that means the new Scrapbooking Top 50 Monthly Challenges are up! As usual, there is one from each of the 3 DT members and they are great! (If I do say so myself...LOL) My monthly challenge to everyone is to use hand cutting, hand stitching and pearls on a layout. Here is the layout I created using all the yummy goodies in my DT kit from Scrapping 2 Perfection and my2angels (I think my favourite thing was the gorgeous hot pink velvet ribbon from my2angels...I didn't want to cut it up! LOL)

February also signals that the next SBT50 Cyber Crop is not too far away! It will all kick off on Monday 8th and the theme is "Love Is All Around". There are some AWESOME challenges planned and lots of great prizes up for grabs, so be sure to stop by the forum and register your interest HERE
